We’re heading north, way north, for an exciting adventure! The days in Iceland are not about doing more, but rather about stepping away from the noise and giving yourself space to reconnect.
Volcanic trails, black sand valleys, and remote mountain huts are waiting. We'll be hiking 4 days in the silence of the mountains, and ending each day sharing meals together - it's the kind of routine everyone dreams of. Out there in nature, conversations go deeper, the laughs hit harder, and the connection becomes something you carry back with you.
Arrive on your own in Reykjavik and settle in. This Nordic city may be small, but it’s packed with charm. From street art and cozy cafés, to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church and the picturesque harbor. It’s a great place to ease into the rhythm of Iceland before the adventure begins.

Our journey begins with transportation along highland tracks, passing the majestic volcano Hekla and Fjallabak Nature Reserve. We drive through Landmannalaugar area with its multicolour mountains heading towards the captivating Mt Sveinstindur, nestled by the picturesque lake Langisjór— one of Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders. As we ascend the peak, you'll be treated to awe-inspiring views that stretch over the mountainous terrain and extend all the way to the magnificent Vatnajökull glacier. Following this exhilarating climb, our descent leads us to a traditional hut on the opposite side. This rustic abode offers a genuine back-to-nature experience.

Mountain hut Sveinstindur
Today’s hike follows the glacial river Skaftá, flowing from the mighty Vatnajökull icecap. The trail winds through a dramatic volcanic landscape—black sands, twisted lava fields, and striking rock formations—before reaching the sharp peaks of Uxatindar and their sculpted canyons. As you continue, the scenery softens, giving way to green slopes and mossy ground—an ideal stretch for good conversation, quiet moments, and shared laughs.
By evening, you’ll arrive in Skælingar, a wild little hideout tucked in an ancient lava forest by the river. Tonight, it’s just you, the crew, and a remote mountain hut in the middle of nowhere. Perfect.

Mountain hut Skælingar
After packing up, we set out toward the legendary Canyon of Fire. A steady climb through soft hills takes us to a panoramic peak, where sweeping views stretch across the massive canyon and out toward distant glaciers. From there, we descend slowly into the canyon itself, with plenty of time to take it all in.
The trail continues through rolling green hills alongside the Syðri Ófæra river, which is fed by a geothermal area. Depending on the conditions, we’ll either cross the river or follow it to the Álftavötn lakes, where tonight’s remote hut awaits. This is the kind of place that invites you to slow down - no distractions, just good company and a wild, quiet setting.

Mountain hut Álftavötn
Today, our journey unfolds beside the enchanting Syðri Ófæra river, traversing the awe-inspiring Eldgjá Canyon of Fire once more. The scenery metamorphoses from vibrant green meadows to dark sands adorned with vibrant streaks of bright green moss. As we advance, we encounter the alluring Strútslaug natural pool, a serene oasis following our gentle river crossing at Hólmsá. After a delightful soak, allowing the warmth to rejuvenate our spirits, we conclude today's expedition with a leisurely walk to the inviting Strútur hut, our haven for the night. This cozy abode offers modern amenities, including comfortable lodging, convenient WC facilities, and refreshing showers to make our stay comfortable and rejuvenating.

Multishare Mountain Hut
In the morning, we embrace the peacefulness of our surroundings, either indulging in a well-deserved rest or a captivating hike in the vicinity of our hut. Following our last lunch, a private 4x4 vehicle awaits to transport us across the striking Mælifellssandur—a vast expanse of black volcanic sand, adding a dramatic touch to the landscape—as we make our way back to civilization and Reykjavik.
At our hotel, we will enjoy some time in the Spa before enjoying a group farewell dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Your last breakfast is the perfect chance to sit back and reflect upon the adventure you just shared.
A transfer will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.

During the trek, the accommodation will be in mountain huts in dormitories with single and double bunk beds or mattresses.
The huts are equipped with gas stoves and kitchen utensils, with the toilets normally in separate huts/outhouses.
Note that showers are only available at Strútur Hut on day 4.
Participants need to bring 900 ISK for 5 min (cash only). It is not possible to charge batteries and phones in the huts.
Sleeping bag is necessary and can be rented upon request for 8,000 ISK Rack per bag.
Hiking poles can be rented upon request for 2,500 ISK Rack per pair.
Luggage will be transported by transport vehicle and participants will not have access to it until they reach the accommodation in the afternoon.
The food is purchased in Reykjavik, with the emphasis on fresh product and easily-prepared meals. The trip leader, will prepare the group’s evening meals and will be grateful for any assistance from group members. Local specialties predominate, including excellent sea-fish and Icelandic lamb, as well as fresh Arctic char. Breakfasts consists of porridge, muesli, bread, jam, cheese, ham, tea and coffee.
At breakfast, snack items and sandwich materials will be made available for the group members to make their own lunch packs.
